About Gardener Bob's Homestead Kitchen

You are what you eat, and most people feel it, whether they realize it or not.

I believe food should be simple, real, and made the way it’s supposed to be. No weird ingredients, no shortcuts,  just food your body actually recognizes.

MEET BOB

Hi, I’m Bob.

This is more than just a food business, it’s my story.

I’m a recovering addict and alcoholic. For years, I thought that once I got sober, everything in my life would finally fall into place. But what I didn’t realize was that sobriety didn’t automatically mean health.

Even after getting clean, I still felt exhausted, inflamed, and off. Something wasn’t right.

Eventually, I discovered I had been dealing with SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth)—a gut condition that was preventing me from properly absorbing nutrients. It explained a lot. And it forced me to take a deeper look at what I was putting into my body.

That’s where everything changed.

I started brewing my own kombucha. I began growing my own food. I taught myself how to bake real sourdough.

Because at some point, I realized:

If I wanted to truly heal, I had to take full ownership of what I consumed.

And honestly? The difference was night and day.

The kombucha I made at home was stronger, cleaner, and more effective than anything I could find in stores.

The sourdough I baked was simple, digestible, and made the way it’s supposed to be—no shortcuts, no unnecessary ingredients.

So I kept going.

What started as a personal healing journey slowly turned into something bigger. I brought my products to a local farmers market… and the response was incredible.

That’s how Gardener Bob was born.

Today, everything I make follows the same philosophy:

✔ Simple ingredients

✔ Traditional methods

✔ No artificial additives or preservatives

✔ Food that actually supports your body

My sourdough is made with just flour, water, salt, and a 100+ year-old starter that brings incredible flavor and character to every loaf.

My kombucha is brewed in small batches for real potency, not watered down, not mass-produced.

All of my canned goods, especially the pickles, are crafted to be bold, clean, and downright addictive (in the best way).

I now operate out of my kitchen and storefront in Greensboro, NC, where you’ll also find fresh baked goods, gluten-free options, and a curated selection of local products from other small producers.

If you’re nearby, I’d love for you to stop in:

At the end of the day, this isn’t just about food.

It’s about healing, rebuilding, and doing things the right way, no shortcuts.

Welcome to Gardener Bob.
